Where did you grow up?
I grew up on the beautiful white sandy beaches of Bradenton, Florida.  The beaches I grew up on are always on the Travel Channel as being one of the top beaches to vacation at.  I am a total beach bum and totally miss living by a beach!  That is why you will find me in my pool as often as possible.

What are your hobbies (besides CrossFit)?
Well, I don’t really have any hobbies that I can think of.  I would have to say that watching my kids play sports.  Jace has been in club soccer for 5 years (and is amazing, at least I think so) and Addison just started gymnastics. Aside from that I would have to say hanging out with Bladies and my Brew Crew (aka my crossfit peeps) and just living everyday to the fullest!  YOLO! (yes I said it ☺)

What is your occupation?
I am a Project Accountant for large corporation.  I handle all of the construction projects associated to buildings they own.  It is mostly reporting and sounds super boring to most, but I don’t mind it. I <3 Excel!! = super nerd!

How were you first introduced to CrossFit?
My husband, Tom, got a Blade flyer in the mail and decided to go check it out.  After I finished my degree in January 2014 I decided to try it with hesitation since I was way out of shape.  I said to him, “How can I go to a place where everyone is in shape and feel okay about it?!?!”  Little did I know I would loose over 15 pounds and 10% of my body fat in less than 6 months!

What is your favorite WOD/movement?
I would have to say burpees and cleans.  Since I am vertically challenged and low to the ground already, I feel like I am pretty fast at them.  As for the cleans, out of all the other weightlifting movements I feel like I am most comfortable with that movement.  However, my mind will not let me lift over 95#, so I need to figure out that issue. My mind likes to mess with me. Push ups!  I actually like to do them, even though I have to break them up.

What is your least favorite WOD/movement?
ROWING!  Rowing is not meant for shorties!!  Since I have not been able to run for the past few months I have been getting a lot better at rowing though, so I guess I don’t mind rowing that much anymore.  For an actual movement, I think my least favorite is OHS.  That movement is just so awkward.  I guess anything overhead like this I don’t care for.  Hold up, wallballs!  I have to jump each time I have to throw the wall ball up, so not fair!

What CrossFit accomplishment are you most proud of? 
Let’s see, I would have to say I was so proud of the first (and most likely last) competition I competed in with Jaylean Kedwards.  We were Team Bladelicious and placed 6th out of 12 teams. So for being munchkins, we placed 11 out of 12 for the back squat, obviously when some ladies were squatting over 200 lbzzz!! Second WOD, we were 6 out of 12 for a thruster WOD, then 2 out of 12 in the long endurance WOD. The WOD was 250 m row/partner holding 95# deadlift then switch, 50 wb/50 Russian swings/250 su/50 burpee over plate/50 sit ups/then back to row/deadlift.  It felt so amazing to know that even though I may not be able to lift heavy, I can kick some arse in body weight movements AND that I actually had endurance for a longer WOD.  To have Chris and Claire and other members come out and support us made me feel so proud of myself and to be part of the Blade community.

What is your favorite song to WOD to?
I am horrible at names of songs!!  I would have to say I like a continuous mix of both hip hop and EDM music, or have to go with Eminem – Lose Yourself.  That song pumps me up, especially at5:30 am.  When a song goes from one song to the other and there is silence and you can hear everyone breathing heavy makes me laugh…

What would you like to accomplish next through CrossFit? 
My goals this year for Crossfit is to get strong enough to get through an entire WOD doing RX HSPU, double-unders (if my foot ever heels!) and kipping pull-ups!  For some reason my mind will not allow my body to kip for them, again my mind likes to mess with me!

I love…. I eat…. I will… I am… 
I love that I have met so many amazing friends from Blade!  I have a new family that I could not imagine my life without.  I love all of the Coaches, Claire, Chris, Terra, Frank, Ben & Tammy!

I eat healthy now!  I was a raman noodle and fast food junkie!  After losing 15 pounds in the first challenge, it taught me that you can eat a lot of healthy food and not have to starve yourself.  I am obsessed with kale and plantain chips!

 I will be 40 in December (shhhh), and I am in the best shape of my life thanks to Crossfit!  Even when I was in the Marine Corps I was not in this type of shape.  I think I could kick more arse now than when I was 20.  Bring it! Haha!

I am going to live until I can’t Crossfit anymore!!! I am going to get double unders, I am going to get kipping pull-ups, I am going to get through RX HSPU and anything else I cannot master yet!!  (AND yes, I use a lot of !!!!! all the time! Why not?)
