Where did you grow up?
I grew up in a small rural town in Cam Ranh, Vietnam. It was so small that electricity didn’t make its way there and no running water! We relied on propane lanterns to provide light for us at night. Well water was drawn by hand using a small bucket with a string attached! Food was cooked using wood or charcoal. I left that simple life with my uncle (my mom’s brother) and a few of my siblings in 1990 and stayed in a refugee camp in the Philippines for 6 months. Arizona sponsored our family and we arrived here in 1991.
