We would like to introduce our first Crossfit Blade Athlete of the Month! The Athlete of the Month has displayed a positive attitude, attends class consistently, shows improvement in performance and puts forth maximum effort every day they attend class.
Here are a few fun facts about our athlete of the month, Ben Palmer:
Why do you crossfit?
BP: Like most people I enjoy the tortuous workouts, the community, and our coaches, but I also like the challenge of learning and perfecting new skills each and every day (in and outside of the gym). I feel it keeps my body and brain fresh.
What is your favorite benchmark WOD? (Girl or Blade)
BP: Annie (Double-unders and sit-ups); two things I am actually decent at.
What is your least favorite exercise?
BP: Wall balls/Thrusters!
What are your hobbies?
BP: I’m a nerd when it comes to health and fitness. I enjoy physical therapy (soon to be my profession) and I am constantly reading up and watching things about CrossFit. I wish I could live at the gym!
What is something that many people may not know about you?
BP: I have a hearing loss in my right ear due to an illness from when I was a toddler.
What accomplishment are you most proud of?
BP: Quitting my initial career to change directions from business to physical therapy and getting into a physical therapy school.
What are your goals for 2014?
BP: Continue to improve my fitness in CrossFit. Learn how to do freestanding handstands, handstand push-ups, and ring muscle-ups. Increase my CrossFit total numbers. Get my Level-1 CrossFit Certicate
