Where did you grow up?
Pinckney, MI. It’s about 15 north of Ann Arbor. (GO BLUE!)
What are your hobbies (besides CrossFit)?
I’ve always been into music. I’ve played just about every instrument in several bands, but currently I play the drums at Arizona Hills Church in Anthem.
What is your occupation?
I am a photographer at ABC15. I do a lot of consumer advocacy stories with “Let Joe Know”. (See our stories M-F at 6:15 on ABC15!)
How were you first introduced to CrossFit?
My brother in-law told my wife and I about it so we joined 810 Crossfit in Grand Blanc, MI back in 2012. I did Fran twice in my first week! How that didn’t scare me off is beyond me, but I’m so glad I stuck with it!
What is your favorite WOD/movement?
My favorite would probably have to be the clean and jerk. But really…anything that includes a barbell is my friend.
What is your least favorite WOD/movement?
Any variation of a push up. Regular, hand-stand, Treanor…they are all the devil!
What CrossFit accomplishment are you most proud of?
I would have to say I’m most proud of my Grace time. I knew going in it was going to be tough to beat my previous PR of 1:44, but I totally zoned out, went unbroken and finished with a time of 1:24. Definitely a proud moment for me.
What is your favorite song to WOD to?
Any sort of rock. The heavier the better! But Coach Frankie has the best playlists!
What would you like to accomplish next through CrossFit?
I would just like to continue to improve my weaknesses. Body weight movements, running, bar/ring muscle ups.
I love…I eat…I will…I am…
I eat….everything that is on my plate!
I will…try really hard not to eat everything on my plate!
I am…so incredibly proud to be a part of this awesome community at Crossfit Blade!
