Where did you grow up?
Central and Southern California.  Country boy moved to the big City.

What are your hobbies (besides CrossFit)?
I’m a pretty boring individual.  Hobbies would have to be Jaylean & the kids, the pups, and the Brew Crew (Chris’s label for us, not mine) when I’m not at work or sweating at Blade (or sitting on my keister).

What is your occupation?
I’m in regulatory reporting for Banking.  Don’t ask, we’d all fall asleep if I had to go into much more detail, I promise.

How were you first introduced to CrossFit?
I’d always wanted to give it a whirl, then took the plunge once we moved into the house up here and I knew everything was relatively stable (if you know me, you know ‘relatively stable’ is a prerequisite for most everything).

What is your favorite WOD/movement?
My favorite WOD is the WOD I just finished, because who doesn’t like the WOD in the rearview?  …or partner WODs, they definitely help me to dig a little deeper than left on my own.

What is your least favorite WOD/movement?
Besides the next WOD on the calendar, it’s anything squatting, especially repetitively and for time, besides Pam, does anyone really likewallballs???

What CrossFit accomplishment are you most proud of?
I think my moments of pride keep changing.  Two years ago I would have said my first muscle-up.  One year ago I would definitely have said double-unders.  This year, I really surprised myself a few times with muscle-up WODs.  That’s the fun part, I feel like I’m always conquering something new when I’m least expecting it, or when I’m doubting myself the most.  HSPU are still my kryptonite though…

What is your favorite song to WOD to?
Keep the remote out of Matty Mc’s hands and I’m typically OK.  I like heavy metal for lifting and to get the blood pumping (Pantera,Metallica, AC/DC, any era works) and Techno (yes, I still call it techno) for longer cardio workouts where I really need to forget what I’m putting myself through.  I’m probably more consistently in-tune with Tammy’s & Terra’s playlists but have to admit, like Chris says, I don’t hear much outside of my own head once the WOD countdown reaches ‘GO’.

What would you like to accomplish next through CrossFit?
Never getting to a point of complacency and always doing better over the long-run.  I wouldn’t even know how to quantify that or elaborate any further.

Fill in the blank:I love…I eat…I will…I am…
I love…. my friends, my family, this community
I eat….  much worse than I should
I will…   always remain fiercely loyal
I am…   grateful for this place called Blade
