Where did you grow up?
I was born in Chattanooga, Tenessee but have been here since 1985. Went to school in the Peoria area.

What are your hobbies (besides CrossFit)?
Mountain biking, 4×4 off-roading, SCUBA diving, hiking, and homebrewing! I seem to collect expensive hobbies, or at least that is what my wife tells me 😉

What is your occupation?
I’m a partner and oversee service delivery for a technology services company, Aescentia. We work a lot in home automation and large enterprise integrations.

How were you first introduced to CrossFit?
My little sister! She has been going to Crossfit Incendia for a few years and constantly nagged me to try it. Once Blade opened up just right down the road, I didn’t have any more exuses so decided to give it a shot and now I’m hooked!

What is your favorite WOD/movement?
Everybody seems to think I’m good at burpees, so I don’t hate them, but I think squats are prob my favorite movement. Love leg day!

What is your least favorite WOD/movement?
Sumo deadlift high pull. Who ever thought that was a good idea!!?!

What CrossFit accomplishment are you most proud of?
Hmm hard to pick a favorite but I’d have to say getting my first RX HSPU in 16.4. I was super surprised I even made it that far in the workout. I was dealing with a wrist injury and had decided to do the 55 wallballs as singles since catching them was painful. I figured it would take a century, so I didn’t even bother to get measured for the HSPU. Somehow I got through them all, did the best I could on the row, and got off with about a minute left only to remember that I hadn’t been measured. Terra rushed over and marked my height off (thanks coach!) and I ended up getting one rep! I *almost* had a second one too, but was pretty gassed at that point, haa!

What is your favorite song to WOD to?
Anything fast and with a good beat. I’ve always been a hard rock and metal guy, but I’m starting to really enjoy Frankie’s Thursday mixes!

What would you like to accomplish next through CrossFit?
I think the most important to me would be to finally hit my (last year’s) goal of a 200# overhead squat. But other than that I’d like: 400# deadlift, 350# back squat, and 10 strict pullups.

I love…. I eat…. I will… I am…
I love my wife, family and friends, I eat bacon! I will continue to push my limits and abilities. I am happy to have met so many awesome people through Blade!
