Where did you grow up?
I was born and raised in South Florida, just outside of Fort Lauderdale (which is hard to believe based on how white I am ). When I was 16, I moved to Missouri where I finished college before moving to Chicago.
What are your hobbies (besides CrossFit)?
I love to golf in my spare time and Crossfit has definitely improved my game! Also, my wife and I travel quite a bit. We enjoy traveling everywhere from Europe, Mexico, Australia or even simple weekend road trips around AZ.
What is your occupation?
I am a pharmacist for Walgreens Specialty. My focus is on Oncology and Multiple Sclerosis therapies. I am also a compounding pharmacist and formulate custom medications for many patients.
How were you first introduced to CrossFit?
I was introduced to Crossfit by my friends Geoff and Crystal Parris. They kept telling me that I should join and that I would absolutely love it, but I was stubborn. I just kept doing my own routine at my home. Then, my wife got a golden ticket last April and she knew that I would absolutely love it based on what she was doing in the classes. I joined last September and my only regret is not having joined sooner. The community and coaches have not only improved my fitness, but my overall happiness.
What is your favorite WOD/movement?
My favorite movement is the snatch, by far. It is such a technical movement that you can never stop improving your form. Every time I see it in a MetCon it puts a smile on my face.
What is your least favorite WOD/movement?
I can honestly say I don’t have a least favorite movement, but I do remember doing “Fight Gone Bad” my 2nd day of CrossFit! I have never had a workout kick my butt so badly! I learned very quickly why that WOD has its name. So, that WOD will always hold a dark place in my heart, haha!
What CrossFit accomplishment are you most proud of?
I am just proud that I get a little better each week. Whether it be a barbell movement, double-unders, or rowing. Between the programming by Chris and the amazing coaches we have there is no doubt we will all keep getting better.
What is your favorite song to WOD to?
I gotta go with any song by my doppelganger, Macklemore!!!
What would you like to accomplish next through CrossFit?
I want to continue to improve my level of fitness. However, it would be pretty cool to hit 500 on my deadlift, clean 275 and snatch 225. You know, nothing too crazy
