Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Rochester, NY where it’s VERY cold but very pretty.
What are your hobbies (besides CrossFit)?
I like to be with my family, do country swing dancing, ride horses, and hope to actually use my bow one day and learn to hunt.
What is your occupation?
I’m a stay-at-home mom that is getting my real estate license! I’m super excited to help people find their dream homes. I’m also somewhat of a sous chef/dishwasher for my husband’s catering / private chef events ;).
How were you first introduced to CrossFit?
I had a horse-riding accident about two and half years ago that left me in a wheelchair for about 8 months. I was in a lot of pain and couldn’t get rid of the limp the accident had given me. I was referred by a friend to a physical therapist who worked out of a CrossFit gym in Scottsdale named Meghan Daily. She got me WAY BETTER, WAY QUICKER than what traditional PT was doing for me with barbell squats and heavier weights. This led me to look for a CrossFit gym with child care and I found Blade. I limped on into Blade with the world’s most lopsided squat and thanks to Blade’s diligent coaches taking a lot of time to help me, my limp, pain and lopsided squat disappeared!! I’m so grateful to have found such a special place
What is your favorite WOD/movement?
I love to squat and rope climb!! Anything with a barbell though really ;). Gymnastics movements as well.
What is your least favorite WOD/movement?
Rowing, assault bike, and buuuurpeees!! I still love the challenge of these things though.
What CrossFit accomplishment are you most proud of?
I’m proud of the epic endurance CrossFit builds and how far I’ve come in my Olympic lifts. I’m proud of all of it really. That huge feeling of accomplishment I get after finishing a workout is one of the best parts of the sport.
What is your favorite song to WOD to?
I can’t say I have a favorite song but I do like it when the music is loud :).
What would you like to accomplish next through CrossFit?
I’m hoping to focus more on my gymnastics skills, handstands coming soon!!??
